Samantha mumba was born to Peter Mumba who is a zambian aircraft engineer and Barbara who is an airhostess with Aer Lingus. She started going to Billie Barry stage school at a very young of 3. She continued going there till the age of 15. It was Samantha’s hardwork and determination which opened the door for glamourous world.

When samantha mumba was 15 years old, she got a chance to sing on an RTE TV show ,Let me Entertain you. She did not miss this opportunity and showed her best performance. Manager of Westlife and Boyzone was very happy with her performance and singed her for polydor records. After that for 6 months samantha remained busy in writing and recording songs for her debut album ‘Gotta Tell You’.

Samantha mumba’s album was released in 2000 and this spreaded like fire. It was such a huge success that it topped on 3 irish chart , became #2 on united kingdom chart and touched #4 on united state billbord top 100. It was much more than samantha’s expectation. Because of this album she became very busy, although she was very studious, but she has to leave her school to continue her career in music world.

First album of samantha mumba sold over 4 million copies but she didn’t have same luck with her second album woman. She had to cancel this album because of very poor sale. After this cancellation, Samantha started to move towards films. In 2002 , she played a role Mara in steven spielberg movie The Time machine. It was a super hit.

After this Samantha mumba acted in some more movies like Boy Eats Girl, it was a huge success in Ireland, Nailed a thriller movie and Johnny Was which is a british gangster movie. Although samantha is planning to continue her career as an actress, she has left alone music album. She is working on her new album which will be released in Feb 2007.

Samantha is considered black britney spears of pop music world. Till date she has not been heard or seen dating with somebody.
